Materuni Village is the home of the Chagga tribe and a charming place just 15 km away from Moshi Town and the last Village before Kilimanjaro National Park.
Upon arrival, you will register in the village office and start hiking to the waterfall for about 40 minute, on the way you will be informed by your local guide about the culture of the chagga, village life, flora and fauna etc. You will pass on breathtaking views and if you are lucky enough on the clear sky you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival to the waterfall you will find that the pool at the bottom is an inviting place for refreshing swim hence don’t forget your swimwear. Then after you will get a chance of enjoying the traditional chagga lunch and local banana bear.
Next the coffee experience awaits you, where you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and processed until you get your cup of coffee tea. Then in the evening drive back to your place of stay.
